Havaianas is synonymous with Summer and beach goers across the globe, based on their Brazilian heritage they have built a successful brand popular in all markets and is associated with good times and celebrations.
Each year the brand globally has new creative that is adapted to each country to resonate with the local market. For Summer 2018/19 the creative incorporated some of Australia’s favourite crustacean’s including the prawn and crab, Our Friends Electric were tasked with bringing this creative to the mass market via a unique, ‘out of the box’ and cost-effective way. Tamarama Surf Life Saving club was given a makeover in collaboration with artist Mike Watt who was able to bring the vision to life. The painting of the mural coincided with the Sculptures by the Sea to give maximum impact for the brand and delivered on mainstream media and social media coverage.
Eastern suburbs locals as well as interstate, intrastate and international visitors were given something new to see on their trip to Sculptures by the Sea. At the end of the campaign Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club was returned to its recognised cream and blue palette.
